"GAG" is an industry term describing the layer structure of the sheet. It stands for the sequence: Glycol-modified (PETG) layer / Amorphous (APET) core layer / Glycol-modified (PETG) layer. This denotes a symmetrical, three-layer composite design.

How does the recyclability of this composite sheet work? Aren't laminates hard to recycle?

This is a key innovation. Unlike laminates of different plastic families (e.g., PET/PE), our GAG sheet is a true mono-material. Both PETG and APET are chemically compatible polyesters. Therefore, the entire sheet can be processed together in standard PET recycling streams without separation, making it a sustainable choice for circular design.

We currently use standard PETG. Will switching to this GAG sheet require us to change our thermoforming equipment or settings?

The transition is generally very smooth. The GAG sheet is designed to run on standard thermoforming equipment used for PETG. The processing temperatures are similar. In many cases, our clients find the GAG structure offers a more forgiving and stable forming window, which can actually improve yield for deep-draw or complex parts.
