Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the main difference between Sugarcane Bagasse and PLA containers?Sugarcane Bagasse is made from pulp fiber and is opaque; it is excellent for hot foods (up to 100°C) and is microwave-safe. PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a clear, corn-based material that looks like plastic; it is best suited for cold foods (salads, sushi) below 40°C, as it may deform under high heat.
-
Will biodegradable containers get soggy or leak with hot, oily foods? No. Our Sugarcane Bagasse containers are engineered to be water-resistant (100°C) and oil-resistant (120°C). They are sturdy enough to hold hot curries, soups, and greasy meals for extended periods without leaking or becoming soggy.
-
How long does it take for these containers to decompose?Under commercial composting conditions, our products typically decompose within 90 to 180 days, turning into nutrient-rich soil. They are certified to meet international standards like ASTM D6400 (USA) and EN 13432 (EU) for industrial compostability.
-
Are the containers microwave and freezer safe?Sugarcane Bagasse and Cornstarch containers are both microwave and freezer safe, making them ideal for reheating meals. However, standard PLA is designed for cold use only and should not be microwaved unless you specifically request "CPLA" (High-Heat PLA) material.
