High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a versatile, low-cost thermoplastic sheet made by incorporating poybutadiene rubber particles into a Polystyrene (PS) matrix. This combination gives HIPS its defining property: significantly improved toughness and impact resistance compared to standard, brittle General Purpose PS (GPPS), while retaining excellent processability.
